Maya

I hear the whispering waves,
calling my name,
“Come home soon, come home soon”.
I said,
“I’ve fallen in love with a man,
who walks upon the land,
And he touched me, without his hands”.

But I hear the changing tide,
I hear it’s angry cry.
“Is there nothing I can say,
You’re a prison to the land,
Do you not remember who hurt you?
Do you not remember who hurt you?”

Oh maya hear my plea, I must set myself free,
No deeper, I need to breath.
Each day that you implore,
my footprints on your shore,
We’ll sing a lullaby.

But illusions never shown,
The moon she draws me home,
“Is there nothing I can say,
You’re a prisoner to his power,
Do you not remember who saved you?
Do you not remember who saved you?”

I hear the whispering waves,
calling my name,
“Stay free”.
I hear the whispering waves,
there still calling my name,
..calling your name,
“Stay free…Stay free...”
